With more than 20 years of collecting and researching luxury handbags, and over a decade of experience in the luxury fashion business working with prestigious European, American, and Japanese brands, Hientje Nguyen has developed a deep passion for handbag craftsmanship. This passion inspired her to establish a premium handbag design and manufacturing workshop in Vietnam, which has now been operating successfully for nearly four years.
For Hientje Nguyen, having her "brainchildren" presented on a major fashion runway represents a memorable achievement in her professional career.
Speaking about her collaboration with Đức Vincie, Hientje Nguyen shared that she first learned about the acclaimed designer through friends, who introduced him as the creative force behind the glamorous looks of many Vietnamese celebrities. After exploring his work, she was deeply impressed by his designs and envisioned her handbags complementing his elegant fashion creations. During one of their meetings, she took the initiative to connect with him. At the time, Đức Vincie was preparing for his Sparkling fashion show, and the two decided to begin their collaboration.

During Sparkling, Hientje Nguyen introduced handbags from the My Trip collection to the fashion community.

Each design stems from a passion project she has long envisioned, inspired by the places that have left a lasting impression on her travels.

From the sails and majestic mountains depicted in the Ha Long Bay design to the map of the United States featured in the USA design, each piece tells the story of a destination close to her heart. Her time in France likewise provided Hientje Nguyen with abundant inspiration, leading to a collection of handbags inspired by the country's iconic architecture and cultural symbols.
The My Trip collection features 25 handbag designs, developed by Hientje Nguyen and a team of ten artisans and collaborators over six months. According to the designer, creating the collection involved much more than designing attractive silhouettes—it also required careful consideration of structure, functionality, and everyday usability. Her pursuit of perfection meant that several designs underwent numerous revisions before reaching the desired result. She cited the Mirror bag as an example, revealing that it was redesigned 12 times over the course of a year and a half before achieving its final form.

Although the time and financial investment required to research and craft each design are considerable, seeing our creations shine on the runway fills us with immense pride and gives us the motivation to continue pursuing this challenging journey.
To me, every handbag represents not only passion and creativity but also our determination to bring Vietnamese handbag brands closer to both domestic and international consumers. It is also our way of introducing Vietnamese fashion to the world," Hientje Nguyen shared.

Reflecting on the Sparkling fashion show, Hientje Nguyen admitted that she still feels overwhelmed with happiness after witnessing her creations come to life on the runway. For her, this accomplishment is not only the realization of a personal dream but also the shared aspiration of many people, especially the skilled artisans who devoted countless hours to researching and crafting each unique design.
"I believe every journey comes with its own challenges and obstacles. However, once we overcome them, the rewards are truly worthwhile. Creating the 25 handbags in the My Trip collection has been an incredible experience that allowed my team and me to fully immerse ourselves in our passion and creativity.
I sincerely hope that My Trip will be warmly welcomed and supported by the public. That encouragement will become a powerful source of motivation for us to continue pursuing our dream of bringing Vietnamese handbag brands to the global stage," Hientje Nguyen concluded.
