During the celebration honoring designer Quynh Paris for receiving an Honorary Doctorate, handbag designer Hientje Nguyen introduced her Three Shades handbag collection to the fashion community. The collection conveys a strong message of environmental awareness and sustainable living.

“In the luxury handbag design industry, genuine leather—especially full-grain leather—is not only the most durable and practical material, but also a natural material that can be environmentally responsible when sourced and used appropriately. That is why full-grain leather has always been my preferred choice for creative design.

As a consumer, I always strive for what is best—not only for myself, but also for others and for the environment around me. During my time studying in the Netherlands, I developed a deep appreciation for the environment and the quality of life there, particularly the culture of conscious consumption.

Consumers in the Netherlands are highly responsible and thoughtful. When purchasing a product, they often take the time to check its origin, how it was made, whether natural materials were used, and whether the production process is environmentally friendly. This mindset has greatly influenced my own values and perspective.

As a result, I strongly support individuals and organizations that are committed to protecting the environment, and I believe that sustainable choices can make a meaningful difference for future generations.”
